3 Reasons To Visit New Smyrna Beach

When October doesn’t come through with that temperature drop, you take out your bathing suit!

Earlier this year, before we left Florida from our little getaway to Universal Studios, we wanted to make a beach stop. I literally had little to no time to google a good beach and we trusted a friend that told us to visit New Smyrna Beach. My mother-in-law’s name is Myrna, so it felt familiar and reliable. I do not recommend this way of adulting & taking decisions, although we were lucky this time. This 17-mile stretch of white sandy beaches was so worth it and this is why you should go too.

You Drive On the Beach

Yes, your tires actually touch the sand. One less hassle of having to walk a long distance with hands full plus watching over your stuff when you get in the water. Also, your parking options are very extensive, as you can park east or seaward of the traffic wooden posts. Finding a good beach spot has never been that easy for us, and we used to live on an island! Must say…all good things come with a cost. In this case, access to drive on New Smyrna Beach will cost you $20 and worth it.

Can’t Touch This Kinda Personal Space

Mhmm! No looking at a stranger’s butt getting a suntan next to you and no sand getting in your eyes from the children playing 5-feet away. Once we settled, at times it felt like it was only us at the beach. This beach offers a quiet experience with the relaxation you need. This is when those $20 you pay for come in handy.

Naturally Clean

A beach should not only be rated based on how soft the sand is or how warm the water feels, but how clean it actually is for me plays a big part of whether I come back or not. New Smyrna will definitely be at the top of the list on this! Not only did I not see any trash overflowing in trashcans but the water, oh my, the water. I used to beg my dad to piggyback me from the shore to the deeper side of the ocean, only to not feel the weird sensation of seaweed in my toes. This ocean water was anything but that. Truly enjoyable, truly naturally clean. A few waves might knock you down but nothing you can’t handle.

I’m sure there are plenty more amazing beaches like this one. Okay, go on! Now you tell me which beach is on the top of your list 👇
